Η δειγματοληψία πραγματοποιήθηκε το καλοκαίρι του 2007 σε σημεία που βρίσκονται κοντά σε δρόμους με υψηλή κυκλοφορία οχημάτων.The work that follows has as aim the estimate of pollution that they have suffered the soil and the plants of city of Chanias from the heavy metals of Lead and Cadmium.
