    Businesses and researchers across industries are conducting research with the use of surveys to investigate answers of specific questions related to one or more topics. These questions usually cover a wide range of areas and can be requested in multiple forms. Unlike other types of research, like written and face-to-face questions, Web-based questionnaires are not the typical choice of researchers as the results are mainly stored to inaccessible servers. This infrastructure makes the system vulnerable to potential data leakage, that could affect the integrity and confidentiality of the stored personal information. Moreover, the vast majority of these systems are used for anonymous surveys and do not provide any countermeasures regarding the data protection, such as authentication and/or authorization features. Based on these facts, the aim of this thesis is to build a web platform that can support local installation of the application and database, in order to prevent the potential data leakage and exposure of the user’s personal information. The present thesis aims towards design and develop of a web platform (ON-Surveys) for creating questionnaires. It focuses on the safety of the system that will make both creator and receiver of the questionnaire certain that information and data are not approachable by unauthorized users.
