| dc.description.abstract | Η εργασία μας αναφέρεται αρχικώς στο θεωρητικό πλαίσιο της διαφθοράς, όσον αφορά τις μορφές της και τα στοιχεία που την αποτελούν, καθώς και στις οικονομικές θεωρίες που εξηγούν την διαφθορά με μικροοικονομική ανάλυση. Στην συνέχεια, εστιάζουμε στην εμπειρική διερεύνηση της διαφθοράς και των συνεπειών της, ερευνώντας την συσχέτιση του δείκτη αντιλαμβανόμενης διαφθοράς CPI με το κατά κεφαλήν εισόδημα και τις εγχώριες και ξένες επενδύσεις στο διάστημα 2012-2014 στον Ευρωπαϊκό Χώρο με χρήση δεδομένων panel που αποτελούν συνδυασμό διαστρωματικών δεδομένων και χρονολογικών σειρών. Τα ερευνητικά μας αποτελέσματα δείχνουν ότι η διαφθορά έχει αρνητικές συνέπειες στην οικονομική ανάπτυξη και στις εγχώριες επενδύσεις, ενώ δεν βρήκαμε ενδείξεις για αρνητικό επηρεασμό των ξένων επενδύσεων. | el |
| dc.description.abstract | At the start of our thesis we refer to the theoretical framework of corruption, concering its forms and the elements that constitute it, we also refer to the economic theories that explain corruption with microeconomic analysis. Then, we focus on an empirical investigation of corruption and its effects, researching the correlation of the perceived corruption index CPI with income per capita and domestic and foreign investment in the period 2012-2014 at European Area using panel data which are a combination of structural data and time series. Our research results indicate that corruption has a negative impact on economic growth and domestic investment, while we did not find evidence for a negative influence on foreign investment. | en |
