| dc.description.abstract | Η ΔΕΥΑΗ ιδρύθηκε το 1983. Είναι δημόσια επιχείρηση ύδρευσης και αποχέτευσης και αποσκοπεί στη μελέτη, κατασκευή, συντήρηση, εκμετάλλευση, διοίκηση και λειτουργία των δικτύων Ύδρευσης και Αποχέτευσης, Ακαθάρτων και Όμβριων καθώς και Μονάδων Επεξεργασίας Υγρών Αποβλήτων της περιοχής Ηρακλείου. Σκοπός της είναι η εξασφάλιση συνεχούς ροής νερού στα δίκτυα καθώς και ο καλύτερος τρόπος επεξεργασίας των λυμάτων. Η λειτουργία της βασίζεται στους τρόπους υδροδότησης, στον έλεγχο, στην διαχείριση των ακαθάρτων, στην τιμολογιακή της πολιτική καθώς και στα έργα που πραγματοποιεί με τις χρηματοδοτήσεις που δέχεται από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, το κράτος και άλλους φορείς.
