| dc.description.abstract | Ο βασικός στόχος της συγκεκριένης πτυχιακής εργασίας επικεντρώνεται στηνλήψη μετρήσεων ποιότητας εμπειρίας (QoE) της IPTV σε WLAN τεχνολογίες, οι μετρήσεις θα γίνουν με ένα κατάλληλο εργαλείο της AGILENT το Framescope. H εργασία περιλαβάνει τόσο θεωρητική όσο και πρακτική γνώση όσον αφορά την ποιότητα επειρίας στις τεχνολογίες που προαναφέραε. Αρχικά γίνεται μια γενικότερη εισαγωγή στην IPTV, την ποιότητα επειρίας και στις μεθόδους μέτρησης και βελτίωσης της, γίνεται μια αναφορά για να αντιληφθούμε τον ορισμό της αντικειμενικής και υποκειμενικής τηλεοπτικής ποιότητας όσον αφορά τις παραμέτρους της QoE και βγάζουμε κάποια συπεράσματα για αιτίες κακής ποιότητας. Στο επόμενο στάδιο βλέπουμε πιο συγκεκριμένα την IPTV σε WLAN, WIMAX τεχνολογίες. Αναφερόμαστε σε αρχιτεκτονικές DSLAM και πλατφόρμας αναλυτικά μέσα από γραφήατα. Στο τελευταίο στάδιο βλέπουμε την διαδικασία την οποία ακολουθήσαμε για την πραγματοποίηση των μετρήσεων και τα αποτελέσατα τα οποία προέκυψαν από τις τεχνολογίες που ασχολούμαστε. | el |
| dc.description.abstract | IPTV is the set of multimedia services (television, video, audio, text, graphics and data) that are distributed through an IP network. In general, in an IPTV network the video and audio streams are sent in MPEG packages through the Real Time Protocol (RTP). This protocol supports real-time media streaming, with control mechanisms, to synchronize the different audio and video flows. As it concerns performance issues for IPTV distribution, the concept of Quality of Experience (QoE) has been proposed in the last few years in order to define the overall performance of the system under consideration from the point of view of the users. The associated QoE parameters can be measured in the transport layer and the application layer of the underlying TCP/IP network. Such an experimental QoE performance evaluation of IEEE 802.11g WLAN networks for IPTV streaming is carried out in this thesis. More specifically, by the use of the VLC Media Player software, IPTV video streaming is transferred through the WLAN of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete – Branch of Chania and QoE measurements are provided by the Agilent Framescope Pro device.
