Η παρούσα διατριβή πραγματεύεται την ανάκτηση και επαναχρησιμοποίηση υλικών υψηλής αξίας από Απόβλητα Ηλεκτρικού και Ηλεκτρονικού Εξοπλισμού (ΑΗΗΕ). Παρέχει μια ολοκληρωμένη επισκόπηση της διαχείρισης αστικών στερεών αποβλήτων (ΑΣΑ), συμπεριλαμβανομένων κατηγοριών και ρυθμιστικών πλαισίων στην Ευρώπη και την Ελλάδα. Λεπτομερείς ενότητες καλύπτουν την τρέχουσα κατάσταση των ΑΣΑ, τονίζοντας ανακυκλώσιμα υλικά όπως χαρτί, πλαστικό, γυαλί, μέταλλα και μπαταρίες. Η μελέτη εμβαθύνει στα ΑΗΗΕ, ένα απο τα πιο περίπλοκα ρεύματα των Στερεών Αποβλήτων, περιγράφοντας ορισμούς, κατηγορίες, ποσότητες καθώς και το Ελληνικό και διεθνές νομοθετικό πλαίσιο που έχει θεσπιστεί για τα συγκεκριμένα απόβλητα. Αναφέρονται επίσης οι προηγμένες μεθοδολογίες επεξεργασίας των ΑΗΗΕ, που αποσκοπούν στη βελτίωση της αποδοτικότητας και της βιωσιμότητας της ανακύκλωσης.

Provides a comprehensive overview of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management, including categories and regulatory frameworks in Europe and Greece. Detailed sections cover the current state of MSW, highlighting materials such as paper, plastic, glass, metals and batteries. The study delves into WEEE, one of the most complex streams of Solid Waste, describing definitions, categories, quantities as well as the Greek and international legislative framework that has been established for the specific waste. The advanced WEEE treatment methodologies are also mentioned, which aim to improve the efficiency and sustainability of recycling.
