| dc.description.abstract | Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι η συγκριτική αξιολόγηση της θνησιμότητας από τη νόσου COVID-19, ανάμεσα στα κράτη μέλη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης (ΕΕ), συμπεριλαμβανομένου και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου (ΗΒ), για την περίοδο 01/01/2020 έως και 30/06/2020, όπου άρθηκαν οι περισσότεροι ταξιδιωτικοί περιορισμοί και θεωρείται το πρώτο κύμα της πανδημίας. Τα στοιχεία της έρευνας, που αφορούσαν τη θνησιμότητα στα κράτη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, αντλήθηκαν από την επίσημη ιστοσελίδα του ECDC (https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/covid-19/data-collection), και επεξεργάστηκε κατάλληλα για το διάστημα που εξετάσαμε. Μετά τη συλλογή των δεδομένων, κατασκευάστηκαν οκτώ πίνακες, απεικονίζοντας τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας. Το σύνολο των κρουσμάτων, για την περίοδο μελέτης, ήταν 1.519.343 κρούσματα και των θανάτων 173.391 ενώ ο μέσος όρος κρουσμάτων και θανάτων ήταν 54.262 κρούσματα και 6.193 θάνατοι αντίστοιχα. Παράλληλα, από τα καταγεγραμμένα κρούσματα, το 11.41% των νοσούντων απεβίωσαν από τις επιπλοκές της Covid-19, με μια μέσο όρο θνησιμότητας στο 6.70%. Ταυτόχρονα, οι πολιτικές και τα μέτρα που υιοθετήθηκαν από τις χώρες της ΕΕ, για την αντιμετώπιση της πανδημίας, οδήγησαν σε τραγικές συνέπειες για την οικονομία και την κοινωνία ως σύνολο. Ωστόσο, σε εθνικό επίπεδο, η Ελλάδα θεωρήθηκε ως “success story” από τα Ευρωπαϊκά ΜΜΕ, για την αποτελεσματική αντιμετώπιση της πανδημίας. Κύριος λόγος, ήταν οι πρώιμες και αυστηρές πολιτικές παρεμβάσεις για την καταπολέμηση της εξάπλωσης εντός των συνόρων. | el |
| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to compare the mortality from COVID-19 disease among the countries of the European Union (EU), including the United Kingdom (UK), for the period from 01/01/2020 to 30/06/2020, where most travel restrictions were lifted and is considered the first wave of the pandemic. The survey data on mortality in European Union countries were taken from the official ECDC website (https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/covid-19/data-collection), and processed appropriately for the time period we researched. After collecting the data, eight tables were constructed, showing the results of the research. The total number of cases, for the study period, was 1,519,343 cases and 173,391 deaths while the average number of cases and deaths was 54,262 cases and 6,193 respectively. At the same time, from the recorded cases, 11.41% of the patients died from the complications of Covid-19, with an average mortality rate of 6.70%. At the same time, the policies and measures adopted by EU countries to deal with the pandemic led to tragic consequences for the economy and society as a whole. However, at national level, Greece was considered a “success story” by the European media, for the effective response to the pandemic.
