dc.description.abstractΗ παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία εξετάζει τις απόψεις των επαγγελματιών ψυχικής υγείας σχετικά με την ένταξη της Εικονικής Πραγματικότητας (Virtual Reality – VR) ως θεραπευτικής μεθόδου στις δομές ψυχικής υγείας της Περιφέρειας Κρήτης. Στόχος της μελέτης ήταν να διερευνηθεί ο βαθμός αποδοχής, η αντιλαμβανομενη αποτελεσματικότητα και οι προϋποθέσεις εφαρμογής της μεθόδου για τη θεραπεία της σχιζοφρένειας, των αγχωδών και των διπολικών διαταραχών. Αν και η πλειονότητα των συμμετεχόντων δεν είχε προηγούμενη εμπειρία με τη χρήση της εικονικής πραγματικότητας, τα αποτελέσματα ανέδειξαν μια γενικά θετική στάση απέναντι στην εφαρμογή της ως συμπληρωματικής θεραπευτικής προσέγγισης. Παράλληλα, επισημάνθηκαν δυσκολίες που σχετίζονται με την ανεπαρκή τεχνολογική υποδομή και εκπαίδευση των δομών ψυχικής υγείας στην Κρήτη, καθώς και η ανάγκη για περαιτέρω ενημέρωση και κατάρτιση των επαγγελματιών. Συνολικά, τα ευρήματα δείχνουν ότι η Εικονική Πραγματικότητα μπορεί να αποτελέσει ένα καινοτόμο και υποσχόμενο εργαλείο θεραπείας, εφόσον εφαρμοστεί με την κατάλληλη επιστημονική καθοδήγηση και υποστήριξη.el
dc.description.abstractThis thesis explores a pioneering topic for Greece, and particularly for Crete, focusing on the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) as a therapeutic method within mental health facilities in the region. The research not only investigates the perspectives of mental health professionals working in these settings but also provides an overview of the therapeutic process in which VR serves as the primary intervention tool. Although Virtual Reality has already been implemented in several countries abroad with promising outcomes observed even in a short time frame, its use in Greece remains limited. The present study aimed to examine the degree of acceptance, perceived effectiveness, and practical feasibility of incorporating VR into the treatment of schizophrenia, anxiety, and bipolar disorders within the Cretan mental health system. Despite the fact that most participants had no prior experience with VR, the findings indicated a generally positive attitude toward its use as a complementary therapeutic approach. Nonetheless, participants highlighted several challenges, particularly those related to limited technological infrastructure, lack of professional training, and the need for further education and familiarization with innovative digital tools in clinical practice. Overall, the study suggests that Virtual Reality holds significant potential as an innovative and effective therapeutic tool, provided that its implementation is supported by adequate scientific supervision, training, and institutional readiness.en
