Η παρούσα εργασία διερευνά το φαινόμενο της αναπηρίας υπό το πρίσμα του κοινωνικού αποκλεισμού, με έμφαση στις βιωμένες εμπειρίες των γονέων παιδιών με αναπηρία. Βασισμένη σε θεωρητικές προσεγγίσεις όπως το ιατρικό, το κοινωνικό και το πολυδιάστατο μοντέλο αναπηρίας, η μελέτη εξετάζει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο οι θεσμικές δομές και οι κοινωνικές στάσεις επηρεάζουν την καθημερινότητα και την κοινωνική ένταξη των παιδιών. Η έρευνα βασίστηκε σε δομημένο ερωτηματολόγιο που διανεμήθηκε σε 100 γονείς και κηδεμόνες, με στόχο την αποτύπωση των βασικών πεδίων αποκλεισμού, της αποτελεσματικότητας των κοινωνικών και εκπαιδευτικών υπηρεσιών, καθώς και του αντιλαμβανόμενου ρόλου του κοινωνικού λειτουργού.
Τα ευρήματα ανέδειξαν σημαντικά εμπόδια στην κοινωνική συμμετοχή, όπως περιορισμένη πρόσβαση σε υπηρεσίες, εκπαιδευτικές ανισότητες και κοινωνικό στίγμα. Η πλειονότητα των συμμετεχόντων εξέφρασε δυσαρέσκεια για τα δημόσια συστήματα υποστήριξης και υπογράμμισε τον κρίσιμο ρόλο του κοινωνικού λειτουργού στην υποστήριξη, την ενδυνάμωση και την κοινοτική ένταξη. Τονίζεται η ανάγκη θεσμικής μεταρρύθμισης και ενίσχυσης πολιτικών ένταξης με επίκεντρο τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα και την κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη.
This thesis investigates the phenomenon of disability through the lens of social exclusion, focusing on the lived experiences of parents raising children with disabilities. Grounded in theoretical approaches such as the medical, social, and multidimensional models of disability, the study explores how institutional frameworks and societal attitudes affect the daily lives and inclusion of children with disabilities. The research employed a structured questionnaire distributed to 100 parents and guardians, aiming to identify key areas of exclusion, the effectiveness of social and educational services, and the perceived role of social workers. Findings reveal significant barriers to social participation, including limited access to services, educational inequalities, and prevailing social stigma. The vast majority of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with public support systems and emphasized the critical role of social workers in advocacy, empowerment, and community integration. The study highlights the necessity of systemic reform, inclusive policies, and intersectoral collaboration to ensure the full participation of children with disabilities in society. The results underline the importance of shifting from charitable approaches to rights-based and community-focused strategies in disability policy.
